D.I.Y. fashion re-boot
BROOKLYN, NY, January 2010 - A.I.R. Gallery is pleased to announce DIY fashion re-boot a hands-on public workshop at A.I.R. Gallery led by Daria Dorosh, A.I.R. Gallery artist and fashion design professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

DIY fashion re-boot will start with an introduction to fashion theory with examples that will inspire participants to actualize their own ideas using the materials that they bring to the workshop. Design and/or sewing experience is not necessary to participate. Assistants with sewing machines will be present.

Participants are asked to bring a bag of their clothes that they are willing to de-construct, with scissors, pins and/or needle and thread. Participants will discover renewed interest in once-favorite clothing items and gain a fresh approach to the ecology of design.

The presentation is held in conjunction with the exhibitions of new work by A.I.R. Gallery artists Daria Dorosh and Nancy Storrow and Fellowship artist Suzanne Broughel.
