![]() A.I.R.Gallery Celebrates 40th Anniversary
The year 2012 is especially auspicious for A.I.R. Gallery as we celebrate 40 years as a feminist organization and exhibition space. Founded in 1972, as the first artist collaborative gallery for women in the United States, A.I.R.’s goal is to provide a professional and permanent exhibition space for women artists to present work of quality and diversity.
The strong feminist spirit that thrives at A.I.R. Gallery has attracted artists, curators, collectors, and supporters since the gallery’s founding. Watch for further details of our up-coming anniversary celebrations and join us in honoring our history and envisioning our future. We invite you to support A.I.R. Gallery’s programs and exhibitions by making a tax-deductible donation to our 40th Anniversary Fund. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to celebrate our first 40 years! As we look to the future, think of what your support could do for women artists in our next 40 years! Please make a donation through our secure website by clicking HERE. You can also donate by sending a check made out to A.I.R. Gallery, 111 Front St., #228, Brooklyn NY 11201. “The women who have contributed to A.I.R. Gallery for forty years do not constitute a particular movement or school. Instead, the women are a cohesive, vitally important social force with a commitment to A.I.R. Gallery, and, by extension, a dedication to the social, cultural and political priorities that A.I.R. Gallery represents.” A.I.R. Gallery would like to thank the donors to the 40th Anniversary Fund for their generous contributions: Friends Level: Accola Griefen Gallery Jessica & Joshua Auerbach George & Carolyn Bassett Lucy Biddle Theodore Bosworth Rachel Oestreicher Bernheim & Charles a.
