The pieces from my "Pink House" series and Salton Sea (“Wish You Were Here”/“Bombay Beach”) are both about about the stories a place can tell. The Pink House was the dreamhome that for whatever reason was deserted. Multiple waves of occupants have passed through making a shelter out of what was left behind. In the 1950s the Salton Sea was supposed to be a tourist destination for Southern Californians which after a short period of popularity fell into a state of decay. After years of increased salinity and pollution in the lake the area has been for the most part abandoned. Structures and piers have been left behind to decay along with the marine life and bird carcasses that wash ashore daily.
