Kristiina Uusitalo has distinguished herself by using large, shaped canvases, which portray the elemental forces of fire, wind and water. She simultaneously affirms the objectness of a painting and its illusion of space, setting layered, linear constructions in counterpoise with bold, gestural strokes.
