ARTIST'S BIO
Tucker’s work centers on themes involving urban life including development and gentrification, as well as neglect and deterioration. The artist utilizes the city streets both as her studio and her exhibition space. Playing on the concept of the placebo effect, where healing occurs naturally when simulated by a false treatment, the artist’s larger body of work is titled Sugar Pill Project.

Brynna Tucker (B. 1977) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She studied Sculpture with a minor in Art History at the University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth (BFA, 1999) and studied Fine Arts and Art History at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY (MFA/MS 2001). In 2006 she was accepted into the A.I.R. Gallery Fellowship Program. She is currently an active member of both the Exhibitionists Women’s Art Salon and Open Ground art collectives.
