APPLY FOR AN EXHIBITION AT A.I.R.

ROLLING DEADLINE

A.I.R. Gallery welcomes submissions of artists’ work and curatorial proposals for 4-week exhibitions on a rolling basis. Please note that exhibitions are generally scheduled out at least two years in advance.

BENEFITS

Each exhibition selected by the Exhibitions Committee will be on view at the gallery for 4 weeks. A.I.R. Gallery’s Executive Director, Director of Exhibitions and Fellowship, and staff members are available to provide professional curatorial support for the successful production of the exhibition. In addition, the gallery will also assist with exhibition promotion to our press contacts and newsletter and social network subscribers. The gallery welcomes artists and curators to propose public programs related to the exhibition.

EXHIBITION COST

Gallery I - $4,000 (August ONLY)
Gallery II - $3,900 ($3,600 for A.I.R. NY, Adjunct, and National Members, or August Dates)
Gallery III - $3,900 ($3,600 for A.I.R. NY, Adjunct, and National Members, or August Dates)

GALLERY SPACE

A.I.R. Gallery maintains three exhibition spaces: Gallery I, II, and III. Please note that Gallery I is available to outside proposals only for August dates and openings are generally infrequent. Please see our floor plan here and consider this in your proposal.

SELECTION PROCESS

Submissions are reviewed by the Exhibitions Committee of New York Artist Members and the Director of Exhibitions.

APPLICATION MATERIALS:

  • A 500-word proposal describing your plans and ideas for the exhibition

  • Resume (one page)

  • Artist statement (one page)

  • Please list one (1) reference with contact information

  • Ten (10) images related to proposed exhibition in 1000px high (variable width), 72dpi, JPG, RGB

  • Three (3) videos, each of which can be a maximum of three (3) minutes long. Accepted file types include Mp4, AVI, MOV, MPG. Only moving images, i.e. time-based media, video, kinetic art or documentation of performance art, should be submitted as video files. Videos of still artwork or documentation of artistic process will not be viewed.
