The Drawing Center, 35 Wooster St, New York, NY 10013

Join us at The Drawing Center for a tour of Fernanda Laguna’s exhibition with Curator Rosario Güiraldes who will speak to Laguna’s understanding of art as a language that communicates emotions. Considered one of the most influential artists in Argentina today, Laguna’s exhibition The Path of the Heart foregrounds the role of drawing in an oeuvre that includes writing, curating, and cultural activism. Fundamental to Laguna’s multifaceted practice is the cultivation of community through a feminist lens. In her words, “Art manifests in people; if there are no people, there is no art.”

Rosario Güiraldes is an Argentinian curator who lives and works in New York. Güiraldes is the Associate Curator of The Drawing Center. Recent and forthcoming curated exhibitions at The Drawing Center include Drawing in the Continuous Present (2022); ; Ebecho Muslimova: Scenes in the Sublevel (2021); 100 Drawings from Now (2020); Guo Fengyi: To See from a Distance (2020); and The Pencil is a Key: Drawings by Incarcerated Artists (2019).
