Join NWL-NYC for a talk with Dr. Linda Prine on October 18 from 7 - 9 pm at A.I.R. Gallery, followed by a social gathering post-meeting at nearby Olympia Wine Bar (54 Jay St).
Since the early 2000s, Dr. Prine has been not only a doctor providing abortion care but also an activist working to increase access to abortion and fight back against an increasingly hostile landscape for abortion providers. She is a founder of the Miscarriage + Abortion Hotline, which provides advice to those completing a medication abortion on their own.
In 2023, Dr. Prine and her organizing group, Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine, were instrumental in passing New York State's shield law, which protects abortion providers from legal consequences in other states if they provide telemedicine care to patients. This law has allowed Aid Access to provide domestically shipped medication abortion to patients in states where abortion is criminalized. Dr. Prine is now one of the U.S. providers for Aid Access. In addition to her work to expand abortion access, Dr. Prine was a part of NWL's Morning After Pill Campaign.
As part of our conversation, we will discuss the NYS Shield Law and what is next in a rapidly changing landscape for abortion access.
