Lines & Weather
Luisa Sartori

December 4 – January 5, 2008

Lines & Weather is made up of a series of small wood panels organized in groups of two or three work. In each group, graphite drawings that hint at geographical and natural features are juxtaposed with textured surfaces, which are created by the action of time and chemical agents taking their natural and often unexpected course on bronze, silver and gold leaves. Like in the process of mapmaking where physical places are reduced and recreated through the interplay of symbols and colors, Sartiri’s work is a plays with juxtaposition of organic and symbolic elements.
