ARTIST'S BIO
Marni Horwitz was born in Brooklyn, New York City (1979). She studied photography, painting, literature, and human rights at Bennington College, Vermont as well as studying photography for one year in Prague’s school for film and photography (FAMU) in the Czech Republic. Marni received a Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts from Bennington College in 2001. After graduation Marni returned to the Czech Republic for two years (2000-2002) to continue photographing her personal project describing the Czech Republic and her relation to it as well as to photograph for an environmental project called “Seeds”. “Seeds” was a collaborative project with a Czech environmental organization, which was sponsored by a grant from the US embassy and was shown in 11 cities in the Czech Republic. Marni Horwitz has exhibited her photography in Antwerp, Belgium in 2001, in the Czech Republic in 2001 and 2002, and in group shows in New York City in 2003 and 2004 and is currently living in Brooklyn, New York City.
