In conjunction with her exhibition Between Continents, Across the Seas, join Susanne Kessler for an artist talk in conversation with award-winning art historian Dr. Lisa Farrington. The discussion will focus on the role of art in their respective works as a counterfoil to the hypocrisy of racism.

Lisa E. Farrington, Ph.D. is an art historian, author, Distinguished Professor and Founding Chair Emerita of Art and Music at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), and past Associate Dean of Fine Arts at Howard University.

Susanne Kessler is an award-winning artist whose practice spans installation, sculpture, drawing, embroidery, and cartography. Living and working transnationally, primarily between Berlin, Rome, and London, her work explores the interconnectedness of cultures, landscapes, and human experience. Kessler has exhibited internationally throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. Her large-scale installations and research-based projects transform geographical, historical, and scientific knowledge into poetic visual experiences.
