Luisa Sartori, Evening (PHNOM PENH), 2012, digital print and oil paint on prepared paper

October 3 – 27, 2013

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 3rd 2013, 6-9pm

Time and Shadows is a collection of time-sequenced images of shadows. The observation of shadows (which have been used for centuries to register the passing of time as dictated by the movements of the sun) provides Sartori with a natural entry point for an exercise in (re)discovery of a different, more personal, kind of time: one which has lost any teleological linearity, or sequential necessity, but opens up to unforeseen and unforeseeable developments produced by one’s own interaction with the world.
